ACDSee is not free, but its well worth the 30 I spent on it. Its faster than Google Picasa and its database structure is similar. I have switched though to ACDSee for the mac. Whose function is to allow the user view and organize the pictures in his/her Mac. There new Google Photos is a pale comparison to the ease of Picasa.
